PIU meeting with PFSA
On the 24 July Jan Grzegorz Prądzyński vice-president Polish Chamber of Insurance and Andrzej Maciążek member of the PIU board met with Stanisław Kluza, chairman of the Polish Financial Service Authority and Lesław Gajek PFSA vice-chairman. PIU representatives have informed PFSA about changes in the insurance industry council which took place at the last PIU General Assembly. Management of the PIU has also informed about long time required for new insurance agents registration.

Insured are safety
Problems with the stabilization of the capital adequate ratings have been solved by the part of insurers - says Lesław Gajek vice-chairman Polish Financial Service Authority. PFSA representative also assures that authority has sufficient instruments to protect clients. Gajek says also that insured shouldn't worry because there isn't any significant danger and the problem was temporary.

OWU on web sites
Insurers should publish on the web sites general conditions of insurance (OWU) - this is recommendation of the Polish Financial Service Authority. Besides insurers should inform via internet about payment and insurance limits tables. Life insurers should also publish rules of the allocating means from insurance capital funds. According PFSA, it will upgrade consumer safety and reputation of the industry.

Big money for advertisements
In the first half of this year motor insurers have spent 130 mln PLN for advertisements of the Auto-Casco and Third Party Liability Insurance. In the same period of 2007 sector has spent only 65,4 mln PLN. The biggest budget on advertisements have AXA and Liberty Direct, new insurance companies on the Polish market.

PZU M&A plans
In its acquisition plans PZU looks for the Slovenia and Croatia markets - has informed Parkiet daily. Andrzej Klesyk, PZU CEO, has talked about M&A since the April this year. It was one of the main topics of the supervision board meeting this week and it will be discussed by the end of September. PZU has about 10 bln PLN to be spent on acquisition.
