Insurance market
The Polish Insurance Association currently gathers 80 of the insurers operating on the Polish market. They are insurance and mutual insurance companies, the Polish units of foreign insurers and one reinsurer. The Polish insurance market is dominated by foreign investors. They hold 77 percent of stake in life insurances and nearly 80 percent in property companies. Germany is the biggest foreign investor in both: life and property branch. As for life insurance companies - the United Kingdom, the United States and the Netherlands are also shareholders.
