Voluntary insurance for farmers

Owning a farm is associated with the requirement of the settlement of various types of compulsory insurance policies. The market, however, offers a wide range of voluntary insurance. These products are for those who are not satisfied with the scope of protection,or the insured sum which is stated in mandatory insurance policies. Voluntary products are also useful to all those who grow non-standard, specialized crops or breeding, which are not included in the compulsory insurance policy, or included only partly.

  • Voluntary liability insurance policies have a broader scope than the mandatory ones
  • Voluntary contracts can be settled for a higher insured sum

Voluntary insurance policies for farmers are offered by most insurance companies in Poland. Voluntary policies may involve both farm buildings and/or all kinds of crops and livestock (for example against risk of animal death or forced slaughter). We can also purchase a policy in case of a machine breakdown. It is each farmer's decision to choose an appropriate additional insurance.

  • Voluntary policies are perfect in case of growing rare corp or non-standard breeding
  • While reading the contract, let’s check precisely the scope of insurance

The insurance is concluded for a year, premium is paid at once or in installments. If we choose an installment option we have to remember to pay premiums on time.  Remember to notify the insurance company of any circumstances that could affect the probability of damage on the farm. You should also inform the insurance company about the change of residence, sale or purchase of a farm.

  • Agreement is settled for one year
  • We are free to choose the form of premium payments

In case of a damage, we are obliged to notify the insurance company as soon as possible. All information on the type of documents and data our insurer will need can be found in General Terms and Conditions. We will definitely have to specify the destroyed crop and what was the reason for its damage. The insurance company is obliged to pay us not only due compensation, but also cover the expenses we have incurred in order to prevent the spread of the damage. The terms and time of payment are exactly determined in the contract.

  • We inform the insurance company about the damage
  • We receive the compensation  once all the necessary formalities have been completed.
